Manchester City transfer news: Celtic star Kieran Tierney reveals he is ‘on the phone every other day’ telling Patrick Roberts to quit Pep Guardiola’s side
England Under-20s winger urged to return to Parkhead by his former Hoops team-mate
MANCHESTER CITY starlet Patrick Roberts is being urged to quit the Etihad by his former team-mate Kieran Tierney.
The winger has shone during an 18-month loan spell at Scottish champions Celtic and helped them to an unbeaten league campaign last season.
Brendan Rodgers would love the former Fulham ace back at the club permanently but would need to break the Hoops’ transfer record.
Another potential loan agreement could be reached, and Tierney has revealed he is constantly telling the 20-year-old to return.
The Celtic full-back told the : “I would be delighted if we were able to get Patrick Roberts back, I really would.
“He showed last season what he can do and he was part of what was an incredible season for us.

“I am on the phone to him all the time – I am telling him every other day that he would be better back here for another crack at it.”
Roberts bagged 11 goals in 47 matches for the Parkhead side in all competitions last term.
The Scottish giants were runaway title winners as they recorded 106 points – 30 ahead of second-placed Aberdeen.
And Roberts certainly enjoyed himself north of the border, although he admits the feat of going undefeated will be difficult to top.
The England Under-20s international said: “I don’t know if I’ll ever play for a team who can go a whole season unbeaten. Invincible.
“So I think, when I look back on my career, this will be the biggest highlight. My biggest accomplishment in the game.”
