Manchester United confirm Victor Lindelof’s £31m signing from Benfica on a four-year contract
Swedish star completes move to Old Trafford as Jose Mourinho prepares to step-up chase for Alvaro Morata
VICTOR LINDELOF has become Manchester United's first signing of the summer in a £31million deal from Benfica.
The Swedish defender jetted into the north west on Monday to complete his move and sign a four-year contract with the club, with an option for a further year.
The Red Devils confirmed a week ago they had agreed a fee with the 22-year-old centre-half and on Wednesday announced the deal had finally been completed.
Upon completion of the deal, United boss Jose Mourinho said: "Victor is a very talented young player, who has a great future ahead of him at United.
"Our season last year showed us that we need options and quality to add depth to the squad and Victor is the first to join us this summer.
"I know that our fantastic group of players will welcome him as one of us.”
