MANCHESTER UNITED and Alvaro Morata have "reached an agreement" over his move to Old Trafford, according to reports in Italy.

Jose Mourinho turned his attentions to the Spain international once Atletico Madrid's transfer ban prevented Antoine Griezmann from making the switch.

But the issue holding back the deal is agreeing a fee with Real Madrid.

Despite Morata not being a first-team player, Los Blancos are holding out for upwards of £70million.

The sale would fund the desired purchase of Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe.

United have already completed one deal to kick off what is expected to be a busy summer.

Long-term centre-back target Victor Lindelof finally sealed his move to Old Trafford yesterday.

The Red Devils shelled out £31m to bring the Swede from Benfica.

Morata's signing would probably not be United’s last deal in this summer’s transfer window.

With a Champions League campaign coming up, Mourinho is keen to bolster his side.

A deal for Ivan Perisic is reportedly edging closer as the Croatian winger told new Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalletti he wants to leave for United.

It is also expected the Red Devils will move for a central midfielder — with Nemanja Matic and Fabinho among the targets.
