BRAVE Joe Ledley has ditched the usual secretism as pictures of him smiling away during his recent hair transplant have been released.
The Welsh star, 30, underwent Follicular unit extraction (FUE) thanks to UK hair restoration firm KSL Hair.
The company tweeted pictures of Ledley on Thursday, as the player smiled and laughed during the treatment - often kept under wraps by fellow football stars.
The former Cardiff and Celtic midfielder was snapped first of all with a thinning head of hair and then with marker pen scrawled all over his scalp - similarly to Wayne Rooney's much-documented work.
Ledley of course has been long-revered for his magnificent beard - and now he appears to be aiming to replicate that glory on top of his head.
He'll be hoping the treatment works wonders as he looks to boast a full head of hair.
Ledley is so happy with the work, he has even reportedly recommended the treatment - and the same firm - to international team-mate and Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale.
The ex-Palace man has told Bale it's time to stop covering his bald spot with a 'man-bun' and go ahead with the treatment
Other football stars known to undergo work on their barnet include Rooney - who also experimented with thickening sprays - and Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.
Following his work, KSL Hair tweeted the images of his day, saying: "We are proud to announce premiership star and Welsh Int'l has completed his FUE HT.
"Can't wait for the results #FUEHT
Meanwhile, Ledley has already been the subject of plenty of transfer speculation, with the Welsh star released by the Selhurst Park club earlier this summer.
On a potential move, Ledley suggested he'd happily go abroad if the opportunity arose, saying: "There's been clubs from all over the world in touch with my agent.
"And I'd be prepared to go abroad, I think it would appeal to me – especially having played international football because I love playing on that stage and I think it suits the way I play.
"There's been Championship and Premier League clubs in touch, a lot of interest but I want to have a good summer with the family and go from there.
"I've been in the Premier League for three and a half years, but it doesn't bother me if I stay there because a new challenge would be good.
"Nothing's been sorted, I'm going to have a great summer with my children and see the options out there and take it from there."
Wherever he goes, at least he'll be going with a magnificent, fresh head of hair...
