THIBAUT COURTOIS has thrown his Chelsea future into doubt by demanding wages in line with Manchester United star David De Gea, according to reports.

The Belgium keeper currently earns £100,000 at Stamford Bridge, which is small fry compared to the Real Madrid target in goal at Old Trafford on £200,000.

Links with Madrid and Courtois have gone quiet after the Spanish side landed the Champions League and started bidding on Kylian Mbappe.

But Courtiois still fancies a new contract with wages similar to team-mate and compatriot Eden Hazard.

The 25-year-old is already a master of his own penalty box and will only ripen with age.

But Madrid have their eye on AC Milan’s teenage sensation Gianluigi Donnarumma, which could harm his negotiations.

In his favour are the two Premier Leagues, one La Liga title, one Europa League medal and the League Cup in 2015.

And the giant won last season’s Premier League Golden Glove after recording 16 clean sheets, the first Chelsea player since Petr Cech to win it since 2013-14.

In March he played down talk of leaving. Courtois said: “I don't see myself at Real Madrid.

"I see myself at Chelsea, the club that six years ago saw me playing in Belgium and gave me the opportunity to sign for them.

"They also allowed me to be three years at Atletico, which helped me to be the keeper that I am now.

"I feel that I'm key to the team, I'm very happy at Chelsea, and I don't see myself anywhere else."
