MANCHESTER UNITED have been dealt a blow in the chase for Cristiano Ronaldo after Paris Saint-Germain already held talks with his agent in Cardiff, according to reports.
Ronaldo is fuming with allegations of tax fraud and how Real Madrid have backed him up with claims the superstar owes the taxman £13million.
It has been claimed he will leave the Bernabeu if convicted and Manchester United were immediately linked with a move for their former playing.
But the are reporting PSG chiefs had clandestine talks with Jorge Mendes at the Champions League final earlier in the month.
The report suggests the super-agent met PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi on the afternoon of the final before Ronaldo starred in Real's 4-1 win against Juventus.
Mendes has other interests in the French club with Angel di Maria there and he is also looking for a move for Real defender Pepe.
But the meeting included discussions of Ronaldo's upcoming problems and Al-Khelaifi saying he wanted to be kept up to date with any developments.
United are seen as the most likely to re-sign the the four-time Ballon d'Or winner.
And former Real president Ramon Calderon believes his heart is at Old Trafford.

In an exclusive interview with SunSport, Calderon revealed: “I remember when I signed Cristiano, he phoned me and said everyone at Manchester United was really happy and kind to him.
“Sir Alex Ferguson was like a father and he loved the fans.
“The club has been very important in his career. Manchester United is a club he has in his heart.”
