CHELSEA have completed the signing of former Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero.

The Argentine has agreed a deal with the Blues and already passed his medical.

Ex-City stopper Caballero left the Etihad last month after his contract expired.

And the 35-year-old has wasted no time in finding himself a new club after agreeing to move to the Premier League champions.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte allowed Asmir Begovic to join Bournemouth in May, leaving him with no back-up keeper.

But he has moved quickly to bring in a replacement with Caballero due to be back-up to No1 Thibaut Courtois.

As reported on Sunday, the Blues are not expected to announce his arrival until July 1.

Caballero was also wanted by top-flight new boys Newcastle United.

The star's agent discussed his client's future publicly over the weekend.

Adrian Faija said: “We have some offers from England, he wants to stay in England.

“Newcastle is cold but pretty and the beaches in Brighton are beautiful as well and easily accessible from London.”

Argentine giants Boca Juniors were also keen on bringing Caballero back to his homeland.

However, Faija quickly quashed the likelihood of that transpiring.

He added: “There isn’t an offer from Boca. To analyse it, first, we need an offer.

“It needs be real first [before we consider a move to Buenos Aires].”

Meanwhile, Chelsea are set to step up their recruitment drive after completing their first summer signing.

Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku remains the Blues' top target.

The Everton forward claims that he has already agreed a deal to leave Goodison Park and a return to Stamford Bridge remains his likely destination.

Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is another player high on Conte's wanted list.
