Lee Cattermole consoled by girlfriend as he throws up his lunch while on boat during summer holiday to Lake Como, Italy
Sunderland midfielder appeared to be sea sick as he enjoyed luxury trip
SUNDERLAND vice-captain Lee Cattermole might be known for being a tough-tackling enforcer in the heart of the Black Cats’ midfield.
But the 29-year-old clearly doesn’t have his sea legs – or even his lake legs.
The midfielder, one of the most booked players in Premier League history, was pictured while on holiday with his girlfriend in the beautiful Lake Como region of Italy.
The beautiful, luxury destination in Lombardy, famous for being the second home of George Clooney and several other A-list stars, has become increasingly popular in recent years.
Cattermole was spotted on a speedboat on the lake, as a mystery girl – presumably his girlfriend or partner – struggled to wakeboard on the back.
Bit it appeared that the former England U21 international wasn’t having the best of times.
The midfielder was pictured with his fingers down his throat – forcing himself to vomit.
Cattermole was clearly struggling on the water, despite Lake Como being known for its tranquility.
The Sunderland man was better on the wakeboard than the brunette, as he managed to stand up for quite a while.
Cattermole played only eight Premier League matches last season (and still managed to pick up four yellow cards) after a series of injury set-backs.
He faces an uncertain future at the Stadium of Light after relegation.
Sunderland are still to name a replacement for David Moyes after relegation and have seen several of their biggest stars already leave.
Cattermole has been linked with a renuion with Steve Bruce at Aston Villa.
The pair were together at Wigan Athletic.
Cattermole moved up to 91 Premier League yellow cards last season – only six players have more.
But Cattermole has also played many fewer games than those above him, averaging one booking every 217 minutes.
Joey Barton and John Moncur are the only other players with more than 50 yellow cards to average a booking in less than every 300 minutes.
