Chelsea forward Izzy Brown in advanced talks over £8.5m move to Huddersfield after successful loan spell
England youth international, 20, scored seven goals and added five assists as Terriers were promoted
HUDDERSFIELD TOWN are close to completing a club record move for Chelsea forward Izzy Brown, according to reports.
The 20-year-old spent last season at the John Smith's Stadium, impressing as the Terriers won promotion to the top flight to end a 45-year wait.
Brown, who has been capped at numerous England youth levels and can play across the front three, scored eight goals and added six assists for David Wagner's team.
The report that Brown is now close to an £8.5million deal for the Peterborough-born star.
That fee would be a club record for Huddersfield, although David Wagner is also chasing a £10m deal for Manchester City's David Mooy after he also starred on loan last season.
Huddersfield, who had five of their first-team regulars in on loan last season, need to rebuild ahead of their first Premier League season.
Derby rejected a £7.2million bid for winger Tom Ince last week, while Manchester City youngster Patrick Roberts is also a target.
It is unclear whether City intend to sell or loan Roberts, 20, next season, although Huddersfield are not in the running to sign him permanently.
Brown moved to Chelsea in 2013, having spent his youth training at Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion.
He has only made one senior appearance for the Blues, although he has been part of dominant Chelsea youth sides that have won the U21 Premier League, FA Youth Cup and the Uefa Youth League.
He captained the Blues to European glory in 2015, scoring a brace in the final against Shakhtar Donetsk.
For England U17, Brown also helped the Three Lions win the Euros in 2014.
Brown has also spent loan spells at Vitesse Arnhem and Rotherham United.
