Barcelona must fork-out staggering £79m if they want to land Dortmund starlet Ousmane Dembele this summer
Frenchman impressed for Borussia Dortmund last season and is on the radar of Catalan giants
BARCELONA will have to shell out a whopping £79million if they want to land Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund.
The France attacker has been a revelation this season at the Westfalenstadion and made a big contribution as England were defeated 3-2 at the Stade de France last week.
But according to Barcelona have been in contact with the 20-year-old who only joined Dortmund from Rennes 12 months ago.
His agent reportedly met with Barcelona officials in the last few days despite interest from Manchester United.
Dembele has netted six times for Dortmund in 32 games last term, and has the sole goal for France.
And his playing style has attracted the interest of Ernesto Valverde and Barca.
Valverde is starting to revamp the Barca side that finished three points behind Real Madrid last season in La Liga and disappointed in the Champions League as they were knocked out 3-0 on aggregate by Juventus.
And with Luis Suarez turning 30 earlier this year and Lionel Messi hitting the same mark this week, Valverde will want to look at lowering the average age of his squad.
Dembele played 49 games for Dortmund last season and emerged as one of Thomas Tuchel's top stars at Signal Iduna Park.

But with Tuchel leaving at the end of last season and Peter Bosz taking over this summer, Dembele could use it as an opportunity to make the move to the Nou Camp.
He will be aware that competition for places in Didier Deschamps' squad for next summer's World Cup is incredibly fierce, with up to four or five players competing in his position.
