Stoke winger Xherdan Shaqiri wanted by Roma as Serie A giants look for Liverpool-bound Mohamed Salah replacement
Roma have got in touch about the availability of the Switzerland star with Kop side set to sign £35m star
ROMA have been in touch with Stoke about the possibility of signing Xherdan Shaqiri.
The Switzerland star is thought to be seen as a replacement for Liverpool-bound Mohamed Salah.
Respected Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri said the Serie A side have touched base regarding the 25-year-old winger.
Egyptair fuelled rumours Salah is off to Anfield after tweeting that he was on a flight.
And it seems Roma could be looking to fill the void should he go with the former Bayern Munich and Inter Milan star.
But it remains to be seen how open to a move Shaqiri actually is.
It was just earlier this month that he was saying the Potters are capable of matching Leicester's 5,000-1 Premier League-winning heroics.
Mark Hughes' side finished 13th last season. But Shaqiri said: "I'm trying to get the club to the top as leader.
"But I also want to play for titles again and be in the Champions League.
