United have already spent £30m on Benfica ace Victor Lindelof and fans are sure to be surprised by seeing another central defender linked with the club.

Whether it’s a sign that Jose Mourinho intends to switch to a three-man defence also including Eric Bailly remains to be seen.

But Marquinhos’ versatility means he can also play at right-back, which is why he is said to be on the radars of Barcelona and Juventus as well.
