Klopp is hoping the fact he can guarantee more first-team football to Mbappe compared to the likes of Madrid and Arsenal, will help them secure his signature.

Mbappe will be aware he must be playing frequently to get a call up to France's 2018 World Cup squad.

It was also reported that Mbappe will only leave Monaco for a move to the Bernabeu.

It is rumoured that if the teenager is ever given assurances over a place in Los Blancos' first team he will try and secure a move to join Zinedine Zidane's side.

Mbappe has previously insisted it is imperative he plays regular first-team football next season and that he will make the final decision on his future.

He said: "I’ll be the only one who decides, along with my family, no one will decide for me.

“I won’t go anywhere where I have been told to go. It’ll be my choice, and I’ll back that choice."
