Was Griezmann trying to convince Lyon striker Lacazette to join him at Atletico once their transfer ban is over in January?

ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE joined fellow France star Antoine Griezmann on holiday in Los Angeles for some rest and relaxation.

The international duo took in a baseball game at MLB side LA Dodgers - as well as bizarrely going to Disneyland California where they picked up Minions rucksacks.

They were joined by a third France international in Samuel Umtiti - as well as Griezmann's brother Theo, him of the cryptic Manchester United tweets.

But despite Theo's best efforts, he stayed at Atletico out of loyalty after the club were forbidden from signing any players until January.

One of the players Diego Simeone's side were poised to sign before that was 26-year-old Lacazette - with Arsenal trying to steal in for £50m once the deal was off the table.

But perhaps Griezmann tried to convince the prolific Lyon man to wait in Ligue 1 until January, and rekindle the deal then when the Serie A side can sign players again.

Lacazette is known to want to play Champions League football next season - something which Arsenal cannot offer for the first time in 20 years, but Atletico can despite their ban.

But it is still believed the Gunners are close to a club-record £44million deal to sign Lacazette after reports in France claim Wenger has agreed to meet the French club’s asking price.

Lacazette himself is yet to accept Arsenal's terms though, and if he moved he would become the club's most expensive ever signing.
