Gianluigi Donnarumma promises to negotiate new Milan contract – as soon as U21 Euros are over

Teenage prodigy has been involved in row over his future

Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be keen on Donnarumma

AC MILAN teenage prodigy Gianluigi Donnarumma has promised to sit down with the club and renew his contract - as soon as the Under-21 European Championships are over.

The 18-year-old star has been linked with a move away from the San Siro in recent weeks.

Super agent Mino Raiola is said to have turned the Italian youngster's head, before his family were reported to have sat him down and convinced him to stay.

Taking to Instagram, Donnarumma posted a statement where he said he would sit down with the Italian giants and discuss renewing his contract.

He wrote: "I want to reiterate my absolute love for Milan and the fans.

"My promise is that as soon as the [Euros] is over, I will meet the [Milan hierarchy] with my family and my agent to discuss my [contract] renewal."

  • Born on February 25, 1999 in Castellammare di Stabia a comune on the outskirts of Napoli.
  • Donnarumma's talent was first spotted by Napoli as a schoolboy when he joined the club's coaching academy.
  • Was signed in a £220,000 deal by AC Milan at the age of 14, and was sent to train with the age group above him.
  • The keeper was called into the Milan first team squad for the first time three days before his 16th birthday, when he was an unused sub against Cesena.
  • Made his debut in the first team in an pre-season friendly against Real Madrid.
  • Donnarumma became the second-youngest keeper ever in Serie A when he made his full debut aged 16 years 242 days against Sassuolo.
  • Had established himself as regular first choice goalkeeper at AC Milan before he turned 17.

It was recently reported that Real Madrid have offered the teenage star a whopping £87MILLION contract according to Milan's former club president Silvio Berlusconi.

He said: "Put yourself in his shoes.

“He is an 18-year-old kid who has received a sensational £87million offer.

“That is not an easy problem for a kid to deal with.”

Meanwhile Jose Mourinho is interested in luring him over to Manchester United if David de Gea ends up moving to Los Blancos in the near future.

While Donnarumma could be in line for a sensational switch to Serie A rivals Juventus after CEO Beppe Marotta confirmed their interest in the prodigy.
