ASTON VILLA have reportedly rejected a bid from Sevilla for Jordan Amavi.
The 23-year-old has been placed on the transfer list by the Championship side.
Steve Bruce has deemed the defender surplus to requirements at Villa Park.
The Villans boss is trying to raise funds to rebuild his squad and transform them into promotion contenders.
However, claim the £5.3million offer for the Frenchman has been rebuffed with the Midlanders wanting a figure closer to the £9m mark.
They paid that fee to Nice for Amavi two years ago but he was unable to stop them from suffering relegation from the Premier League in his first year at the club.

Vocal Villa chairman Tony Xia claimed to have rejected a £25m offer for the left-back in January.
He stated at the time the reason was that Amavi “will grow bigger” at the club, but their stance now appears to have changed.
Just six months later they are now ready to cut their losses and allow him to depart.
Sevilla are attempting to bolster their squad after qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
But they are not the only interested party in Amavi.
Serie A side Sampdoria are also believed to be considering a move along with former employers Nice and fellow French outfit Marseille.
Amavi played 36 matches for Villa in all competitions last season and is a French Under-21 international.
