MANCHESTER UNITED’S BID for Alvaro Morata has stalled with Real Madrid upping their valuation of the player to nearly £80miilion.
Now Morata himself has intervened speaking directly to Real from his honeymoon in a bid to try and get the deal done.
His representatives have also made it clear to United that their player wants the transfer to Old Trafford and are doing their best to try and get it through.
The problem is United value the 24-year-old striker, who could not even get in the Real first team on a regular basis last season, at £60million.
It looked like a deal could be done at that but the club have since pushed up the asking price to £79.5million much to United’s frustration.
It is clearly Real’s way of holding on to a player who manager Zinedine Zidane does not want to let go.

But United boss Jose Mourinho will make him in the main striker at Old Trafford something Zidane cannot promise at The Bernabeu.
He only came on for the final minute of Real’s 4-1 Champions League Final victory over Juventus.
Despite being understudy to Karem Benzema he outscored him in La Liga last season with 15 goals to his 11.
Another indication of Morata’s desire to join United seemingly came this week when his new wife Alice Campello began following United on instagram.
