Wayne Rooney to reject Manchester United offer £10million to leave this summer – and fight for TRIPLE that amount
Old Trafford skipper could trigger further 12-month option on his £300,000-a-week salary and stay for one more season
WAYNE ROONEY is ready for a £30MILLION war with Manchester United.
The striker, 31, has a year left on his deal but can trigger a further 12-month option on his £300,000-a-week salary.
Old Trafford chiefs plan a golden goodbye of around £10m — but Rooney knows he can TRIPLE that if he stays.
Rooney is currently on holiday in Ibiza but has been linked with an Everton return — as well as a possible switch to Stoke, West Ham or the Chinese Super League.
But England’s 53-goal record scorer is not agitating for a move and it is understood he and his advisors intend to stand firm.
Gary Neville has urged Rooney and United to sort it out, saying: “I’m surprised it has not been dealt with. You don’t want that hanging over a pre-season.”
Rooney and his team-mates return to training on Saturday before flying out to Los Angeles for a week-long camp before their US tour kicks off.
