Manchester United transfer news: Kasper Schmeichel could follow in dad’s footsteps and move to Old Trafford if Leicester sign Lovre Kalinic
The Foxes are also close to signing Sevilla captain Vicente Iborra in a £12million deal but may have to pay £22m for Kalinic
LEICESTER City could let Kasper Schmeichel exit for Manchester United if they can tie up a deal for Croatia keeper Lovre Kalinic.
The Foxes are also close to signing Sevilla captain Vicente Iborra in a £12million deal.
But they may have to spend £22million on Kalinic - and if they sign him then it would give United the green light to move for Schmeichel.
Leicester are only believed to have offered £18mllion for the 6ft 7ins Gent keeper so far and have been told to their bid past the £20million mark.
Schmeichel has recently celebrated six years at the club but changed agents in May in a sign that he could be looking for a move.
If David de Gea leaves this summer, a deal to take Schmeichel to Old Trafford would see him follow in dad Peter’s footsteps.
The 27-year-old Kalinic was named the best keeper in Belgian football last season.
Leicester are making a second bid of £12milion for central midfielder Iborra who played against them in their Champions League clash last season and will be allowed to leave.

They had an initial offer of £10.5million rejected last week.
Iborra, 29, has also been targeted by West Brom, Watford and West Ham and the 6ft 3ins player can also operate as a striker.
Leicester are also keen on £15million rated French striker Gregoire Defrel, 26, who plays for Serie A side Sassuolo.
