ANTOINE GRIEZMANN says there is a chance his move to Manchester United may be rekindled — next year.
The France striker looked set for an £89million switch to Old Trafford, until a change of priorities saw United drop their interest.
And he signed a new deal at Atletico Madrid until 2021, with that huge fee in as a buyout clause.
Despite this and his insistence Atletico’s transfer ban until January made him stay, he did not guarantee he will be in La Liga for the 2018-19 season.
Griezmann, 26, told the August edition of magazine: “To be honest, I don’t know. I’m going to be here next season, after that we’ll see.
“It’s absurd to talk about something more than a year away.
“I stayed mainly because of the ban. Atletico need me more than ever. It would be dirty to leave.
"I wouldn’t have been myself or the person that I feel I am today, if I had left the club in that way.”
Man United transfer news
Griezmann insists he never spoke to United boss Jose Mourinho while United were interested.
But the France international does put one thing down to Old Trafford, his look as he was a huge fan of David Beckham.
He told the August edition of magazine: “I used to like David Beckham a lot and it’s actually because of him that my interest in tattoos first began.
“I wouldn’t say that I copied his style but I admired him and would look him up on the internet so that I could find out more about him.”
