Burnley make Charlie Taylor first summer signing after he pens four-year deal from Leeds
Left-back, 23, spent 14 years at Elland Road side but turned down chance of a new deal there
BURNLEY have made Charlie Taylor their first summer signing.
Left-back Taylor, 23, joins from Leeds, where he turned down the offer of a new deal with the Elland Road side.
Taylor, who spent 14 years with the club, has agreed a four-year deal at Turf Moor and will compete with Stephen Ward for a place in Sean Dyche's side.
The former England Under-19 star was awarded a professional contract in the summer of 2011 and signed an initial three-year deal.
A senior debut followed that season before a number of loan moves for the Leeds player of the year in the 2015/16 season.
Taylor said: "It's my first move permanently away from Leeds, so it's something different for me but something I can't wait to crack on with.
"There were so many things that attracted me to Burnley. It ticks every box and it was a no-brainer really.
"That's the huge attraction of the Premier League, just everything about it!
"Week in, week out you are playing teams like Chelsea and Manchester United, so I just can't wait to get started."
Speaking of Leeds, who missed out on the Championship play-offs last season, Taylor said: "Last season was definitely a positive one for Leeds.
"It didn't end too great, missing out on the play-offs but there's definitely a lot of positive to take from that.
"It was a tough decision in the end to leave, but one I had to make."
