LEEDS have snapped up freebie Vurnon Anita on a three-year deal.
The Dutchman, 28, was on the lookout for a new club since leaving Newcastle earlier this month.
Anita spent six seasons with the Toon after joining from Ajax in 2012.
He had an up-and-down spell during that period, suffering relegation from the Premier League two years ago.
But the versatile ace became one of Rafa Benitez's most dependable players last season as the Magpies won promotion back to the top flight at the first attempt.
Often filling in at right-back, the holding midfielder made 31 appearances.
That has left many Newcastle supporters surprised he was not handed a new deal for his efforts.

Leedshave capitalised on the talented ace's free status.
New boss Thomas Christiansen is looking to build on the work Garry Monk started last term, where the club overachieved despite just missing out of the play-offs.
Meanwhile, Charlie Taylor has now officially left the Elland Road outfit.
Burnley confirmed the signing of the left-back on Thursday morning.
