Romelu Lukaku fee agreed with Manchester United set to sign Everton striker in £75m deal that could rise to £90m

Red Devils appear to have beaten Chelsea in the race to sign Belgium international

MANCHESTER UNITED have announced they have agreed a fee with Everton for Romelu Lukaku.

The Red Devils revealed the news on their Twitter account after stories emerged claiming Chelsea had matched United’s £75million offer for the Belgian hitman.

The tweet by United, who are keen to get the deal sorted before they jet off on their US tour.

Their tweet read: "#MUFC is delighted to announce a fee has been agreed with Everton for the transfer of Romelu Lukaku, subject to a medical & personal terms."

A second tweet added: "A further announcement will be made in due course."

It has been reported police were called to his house 'SIX times after throwing a wild party' following the news.

Chelsea were believed to have matched United's bid as they were linked to resign the striker.

It is believed the Blues will now pursue Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata as his future is in doubt.

Lukaku refused a new contract at Everton as he was determined to play Champions League football next season.

He was heavily linked with a move back to Chelsea after he was sold by the Blues to Everton in 2014 for £28m.
