WAYNE ROONEY has agreed a 50 per cent pay cut to join Everton from Manchester United, according to reports.
Rooney earns around £300,000 a week at United so is in line to pocket roughly £150,000 a week if he joins Ronald Koeman's side.
The Daily Mail report that Toffees bosses were willing to fork out a similar amount on Romelu Lukaku before his £75million fee with United was agreed.
But paying up the final season of the former England skipper's contract could cost United upwards of £15m.
On top of that there is a loyalty bonus.
When Robin van Persie left for Fenerbahce two years ago he pocketed £8.4m as a result of such a scheme.
Rooney's agent Paul Stretford was said to be at Goodison yesterday thrashing out the terms of his move.
