Spurs top target is valued at £50m by Everton but Daniel Levy so far wont go over £30m for star with a year left on contract

TOTTENHAM are pushing to land Everton star Ross Barkley before they jet off to the USA next week.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino wants Barkley deal done before heading off to America next Wednesday

The England international has a year left on his current deal and boss Ronald Koeman’s pleas for the gifted midfielder to sign a new deal seem to have fallen on deaf ears.

The relationship between the pair looked shaky for large parts of he campaign with former club skipper Phil Neville accusing Koeman of trying to force Barkley out of the club.

That sensational claim backed up the SunSport exclusive last December, stating Koeman had lost his patience and was ready to dump Barkley in January.

Everton look resigned to losing their Academy product who is holding out for a move to North London.

But the Merseysiders want top dollar for Barkley knowing Spurs have just raked in £50m from Manchester City for Kyle Walker.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has told chief Daniel Levy the 23-year-old Scouser is his top summer target to help mount a title challenge this season.

The Toffees know the clock is ticking on Spurs deadline of next Wednesday when they depart for their pre-season tour of the US and will test Levy’s nerve and hold out for what they want.

Everton look to be planning for life without Barkley, Wayne Rooney has joined from Manchester United and Davy Klaassen from Ajax.

Koeman is also chasing Swansea playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson who is keen to move to Goodison Park.

The Swans are demanding a staggering £50m for the Icelandic schemer who returned to South Wales from Spurs in 2014.
