Joe Hart’s West Ham medical will happen tomorrow as Manchester City outcast prepares to make season-long loan move
England goalkeeper set to seal move to east London after being frozen out at the Etihad by Pep Guardiola last summer
JOE HART will undergo his West Ham medical tomorrow ahead of a season-long loan from Manchester City.
The England international has been frozen out at the Etihad and will be hoping for better fortunes when he makes the move to east London.
City had been hoping to sell Hart on a permanent deal this summer but agreed to a loan due to the lack of interest.
The 30-year-old remains way down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola, with new signing Ederson and Claudio Bravo the two keepers in favour.
And after spending last season on loan at Torino, Hart will now link up with Slaven Bilic at the Olympic Stadium.
West Ham have been keen to make some high-profile signings and fans will be delighted to secure a player of Hart's status.
Newcastle had also been interested but have now lost out, despite Shay Given urging Hart to move to the Stadium of Light.
The Irish veteran said: "I think for Joe, personally, he just needs to get back in the Premier League.
Manchester City transfer news
“He needs to get back in the window as such and back playing – it doesn’t look like that is going to happen at Manchester City.
“He has been cast aside by Guardiola but if West Ham or any of the other clubs that have been linked with him, even Newcastle he was linked with last week – I think that would be a great move for him as well.
“I just think Joe needs to get playing again. He played in Italy last year and we didn’t see much of him. I think he can go back to the Premier League, where people still want to see a top keeper, he could walk into most clubs.”
