Hart, 30, thrived in Serie A with Torino on a near-season long loan last term after departing City because new boss Pep Guardiola preferred a more 'footballing' keeper.

And City hoped to sell Hart this summer but have had to settle for a loan exit.

Brazilian new boy Ederson and Claudio Bravo are Guardiola's first-choice stoppers.

So Hart had little choice but to move on, despite remaining popular with many Etihad supporters.

Newly-promoted Newcastle were also keen on Hart but have lost out as Hammers boss Slaven Bilic tries to shake up the Londoners' squad.
