MANCHESTER UNITED have fully turned their attention on Nemanja Matic after being emphatically told Eric Dier is not for sale.
Jose Mourinho has made the England international his No1 midfield target this summer as he plans the next phase of his Old Trafford rebuilding job.
United made contact with Spurs about signing Dier this summer and were told by the club hierarchy the midfielder is going nowhere.
However, SunSport have been told Mourinho has no chance of landing Eric Dier as there will be no more departures from North London.
The only players leaving will be ones sanctioned by boss Mauricio Pochettino as in the case of Kyle Walker who joined Manchester City last week.
Reports have emerged United could make another tilt at Dier who signed a new five-year deal at White Hart Lane last September.
United will now have to push through a deal for Matic who has told Chelsea his preferred option is to move to Old Trafford and link up with his former Blues boss at Old Trafford.
Mourinho’s summer plans have received a boost with the club agreeing a fee with Inter Milan for Ivan Perisic.
