Manchester United and City priced out of £195MILLION Neymar transfer… leaving Paris Saint-Germain clear to make bid
French giants are reportedly in talks with the talismanic Brazilian in bid to sign a marquee name
MANCHESTER UNITED and City have been priced out of a move for Neymar, according to reports.
Paris Saint-Germain are willing to meet the Barcelona superstar's £195MILLION release clause.
United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward flew to Barcelona three times in 2015 to try and broker a deal for Neymar.
Jose Mourinho has since insisted any move for the talismanic Brazilian would be like "trying to break into a safe".
While City chiefs spoke to Neymar's representatives last year in a bid to hand Pep Guardiola an extravagant welcome gift.
PSG were also in talks with him last summer, though ultimately the player decided to stay at Barca and signed a new five-year deal in October.
But Neymar, 25, confirmed: "There were many talks, not just one.
"I decided to stay because I feel at home and I'm happy with my life in Barcelona."
But Neymar's father reportedly travelled to Paris this week to discuss his son's future.
It is claimed Neymar is ready to be the main man at a club, having played in the shadow of five-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi at the Nou Camp.
Neymar has never won the coveted award and remains well behind Messi's explosive goals-per-season ratio.
PSG are without a talisman since the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic last summer.
Any deal which sees Neymar join the Ligue 1 club could see Italian midfielder and top Barca target Marco Verratti, 24, move the other way.
