Liverpool and Everton fighting it out for PSG starlet Presnel Kimpembe but French giants refusing to sell
Merseyside rivals reportedly fighting it out to try and convince Unai Emery to cash in on defender
LIVERPOOL and Everton are battling it out for Paris Saint-Germain starlet Presnel Kimpembe, according to reports.
The Merseyside giants both want to bring the 21-year-old to the Premier League.
Despite only making 19 appearances last season, Kimpembe hugely impressed with his opportunity.
He helped PSG to keep a clean sheet on his Champions League debut in the 4-0 first-leg victory over Barcelona in the round of 16.
Although he has failed to become a permanent fixture in the club’s backline, his talents have not gone unnoticed.
Both Liverpool and Everton are looking to bolster their squads before next month’s kick-off to the new campaign.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has been chasing a new centre-half all summer after failing with an early move for Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk.
Meanwhile, over the other side of Stanley Park, Ronald Koeman is wasting no time in strengthening his side at Goodison.
The Dutchman is desperate to lead the Toffees into the top four this coming season.
And he has earmarked Kimpembe as a potential man who could help tighten up his defence.
However, both sides look unlikely to recruit the ace with PSG having no interest in selling.
The player, who is under contract until 2021, also wants to stay and is aiming to win a place in the French World Cup squad next summer.
