Kieran Trippier signs new Tottenham contract until 2022 after Kyle Walker’s exit to Manchester City
Mauricio Pochettino moves to extend Trippier's deal by two years after allowing Walker to leave for a £50m fee
TOTTENHAM have tied down Kieran Tripper on a five-year deal after Kyle Walker's exit to Manchester City.
Trippier was already tied down with Spurs until 2020 and his new contract means he extends his stay until 2022.
Tripper said: "It's a great achievement myself and I'm just delighted to get it signed.
"I always believed that I can play at the top level and I've been working hard.
"Even when I've not been playing I've been working hard for my opportunities and back at the end of last season I got them.
"It's been a good two years, I've met a lot of good people and team-mates."
Last season Trippier played second fiddle to Walker for the majority of the campaign and started just six Prem games.
But his strong form at the back end of last season was rewarded with a call up to the England squad.
He then made his debut against France last month in a 3-2 defeat.

After forcing his way into the first team at White Hart Lane, Trippier impressed Mauricio Pochettino so much that he allowed Walker to leave for City.
Spurs have also been linked with Ross Barkley, but a move is unlikely to happen with the Toffees demanding £50million for their midfielder.
Barkley has since deleted his Instagram account, as his future at Everton remains in doubt.
Pochettino has also missed out on Barcelona star Carles Alena after he signed a three-year contract extension at Barcelona – with a new buy-out clause worth £66million.
