West Ham ‘agree personal terms’ with Javier Hernandez but Bayern Leverkusen holding out for £17million
The Hammers have been chasing the Mexican as Slaven Bilic looks for reinforcements up front
WEST HAM have agreed personal terms with Javier Hernandez – but Bayer Leverkusen are holding out for £17million.
The Hammers have been chasing the former Manchester United attacker with Slaven Bilic desperate for reinforcements up front.
And now German paper Bild are claiming a deal has been struck between West Ham and the player.
But the Bundelsiga club want £4million than what the Hammers are offering.
The East London club have been attempting to seal a £13m deal for the Bayer Leverkusen striker for the past fortnight.
There had been fears the 29-year-old had wanted too much money, but genuine progress was made in talks earlier this week and the club now believe they will get their man.
Hernandez will reportedly fly to London to complete a medical and sign by the end of the week if a fee can be agreed with Leverkusen.
Chelsea had also reportedly entered the race for the 29-year-old hitman but Bilic is confident of getting the deal over the line.
The Mexican international will no doubt feel like he has unfinished business in the English top-flight.
Hernandez became a huge fan favourite at Old Trafford but was hardly used as a first-choice frontman during his memorable five-year stint with the Red Devils.
West Ham believe that he will be leading their attack at the London Stadium this campaign and plan to hold further talks with Leverkusen today.
