UNAI EMERY says he wants Neymar so Paris Saint-Germain can compete with the best clubs in the world.
PSG are willing to pay the Samba star's £195million release clause to bring him to the French capital.
According to reports, Barca are concerned about the 'problem' and have held crunch talks with the Barcelona forward.
Emery has broken his silence on the club's pursuit of Neymar - admitting he wants the player so PSG can compete with the Catalan giants.
When asked about the deal, the Spanish boss told : "PSG wants the best players in the world, who are in the best clubs in the world.
"If we want to compete with Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid and win the Champions League, then PSG must have a player of the world top five.
"We are trying to get one signed this summer.
"The president and the club have been working for several years to bring in players.
"The team, and the fans, would be happy if we have a player from the top five, six or seven, as well as the very strong players that we already have here."
Neymar has reportedly told friends that he is set on the move.
But Barca remain confident that they won’t lose their key man with vice-president Jordi Mestre claiming the Neymar does not want to leave.

He said: “I’m 200 per cent sure that he is going to stay.
“I’ve read information in the French press that PSG themselves have categorically denied it, a club with whom we are maintaining absolutely normal relations.
“Nothing has changed in that aspect.”
