LIVERPOOL will reject a £72m offer from Barcelona for Philippe Coutinho, according to reports.
The Catalan club have long been admirers of the Brazilian playmaker and want to lure him to Spain.
But the report that Liverpool are set to knock back a bid from Barcelona worth 80m Euros (£72m).
Coutinho is key to Liverpool's ambitions of challenging for the Premier League title this season.
The 25-year-old signed a new deal last season to keep him at Anfield until 2022.
Coutinho was key in Liverpool returning to the Champions League after a top-four finish in Jurgen Klopp's first full season in charge.
Barcelona paid Liverpool £75m for Luis Suarez's services in 2014 and will have to improve on that bid to land Coutinho.
Liverpool are currently in Hong Kong taking part in the Premier League Asia Trophy.
