Mourinho does not want the Martial to leave and Old Trafford chiefs continue to have dialogue with their opposite numbers in the hope an agreement can be reached.
One thing United hope will swing the deal in their favour is Mino Raiola’s appointment has Verrati’s agent.
Raiola has previously negotiated Paul Pogba’s transfer from Juventus as well as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s arrivals last year.
