FORMER Newcastle defender Steven Taylor has signed for Peterborough United.
The veteran defender has penned a two-year contract with the League One side.
Posh announced his arrival on Tuesday and manager Grant McCann is delighted to have finalised the deal.
He said: “It is a massive coup to get him on board.”
Taylor,31, told the club’s website: “I’m excited about starting a new chapter in my career.
“It’s a young squad here and the manager and chairman believe I can be a big help.
“It’s a fairly long-term thing hence the two-year contract, but I’ve come here to win things first and foremost.
“I’ve kept myself fit in pre-season. I’ve been training with Ipswich and I’ve played three matches. I’m looking forward to my debut on Saturday.

“I have time to get to know the manager and the other players. I know Marcus Maddison from when he was a young player at Newcastle so I know what a talent he is.
“I’ve been at Newcastle for virtually all my life, but I’m more than ready for this new challenge.”
Taylor made 268 appearances for the Toon Army during his 12 years at St James’s Park and was twice called into the England squad.
He joined MLS side Portland Timbers after leaving the North East before returning to England with Ipswich at the end of last season.
He played three Championship matches for the Tractor Boys before departing this summer.
Doncaster were also interested in signing the star.
