DIEGO ROLAN is wondering whether Newcastle United really want him.
The Uruguyan striker is thought to have passed a medical at Fulham before news of the Magpies' supposed interest emerged.
Now the 24-year-old Bordeaux man is refusing to complete a £5million move to Craven Cottage while he seeks news from the north-east.
This follows a claim from the that Newcastle were hoping to nip in and sign the 25-time capped Uruguay international this summer.
Rolan, who scored 10 goals in 33 matches in all competitions last season, could certainly be on Rafa Benitez's wish list given his low valuation.
With Daryl Murphy leaving Tyneside in a £2m move to Nottingham Forest, Benitez is keen to sign a new striker.
The Newcastle boss is also considering alternative attacking targets, and his next move could be influenced by a decision over the future of Aleksandar Mitrovic.
He is the Serbia international linked with a potential move to Lyon.
NEWCASTLE UNITED TRANSFER STORIES
In the meantime, Fulham fans are left on the edge of their seats wondering if Rolan will boost a side that reached the Championship play-offs last season.
He posted a video on his official Instagram page of a number of his goals for Bordeaux with the words: "Il faut pas oublier. #histoire."
Translated, that means 'we must not forget. #history.'
So he's obviously destined for a new club.
The question is... where?
