Pep Guardiola has started to summer clear-out

Fernando was left out of City’s pre-season tour of the United States and was told he has no future under boss Pep Guardiola.

The Brazilian has only featured once since last December – an FA cup draw at Huddersfield.

After a summer spending spree of £220m – City sporting director Txiki Bergiristan has been given the job off clearing the decks and finding clubs for players surplus to requirements this summer.

City have so far sold Kelechi Iheanacho to Leicesster for £25m and are looking to offload Samir Nasri, Fabian Delph, Wilfried Bony and Eliaquim Mangala.

Guardiola confirmed he expects Nasri to depart before the end of the transfer window, however Mangala has snubbed a switch to Spartak Moscow.

Bony who cost £28m from Swansea in 2015 has failed to make an impact at the Etihad is desperate to kick-start his career elsewhere.
