Liverpool want Arturo Vidal after Naby Keita blow as Jurgen Klopp targets Bayern Munich star to reinforce his midfield
Reds have been blocked by RB Leipzig from signing star man and will now turn attention to Chilean powerhouse
LIVERPOOL have reportedly set their sights on Bayern Munich star Arturo Vidal after failing to lure Naby Keita from RB Leipzig.
Jurgen Klopp is determined to bring a world-class central midfielder to Anfield this summer but has seen his efforts to sign Keita rebuffed by Bundesliga runner-ups Leipzig.
However, claims the Liverpool boss has instead turned his attention to Chile superstar Vidal, who has enjoyed plenty of success in Germany and Italy.
The 30-year-old ace is perfectly suited to Klopp’s dynamic style and would give Liverpool the numbers needed to compete on all fronts.
Adam Lallana has been ruled out for two months and Philippe Coutinho is wanted by Barcelona.
It means Vidal would be guaranteed a starting role on Merseyside, although Liverpool are said to face stiff competition from Inter Milan.
The San Siro outfit have continued to splash the cash following last year’s mega-money takeover by Chinese investors.
And it’s believed new boss Lucianio Spalletti has identified Vidal as the man to help Inter challenge champions Juventus and fellow big-spenders AC Milan.

Additional reports claim Liverpool could earn extra funds by cashing in on Emre Can.
The Germany international is said to be wanted by Juventus, and Liverpool could be willing to part ways for just under £30million.
Klopp could yet continue his spending with a move for Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic.
But he may face problems trying to land transfer-listed defender Virgil van Dijk, with Southampton reluctant to do business with the Reds after accusations of illegal tapping-up earlier in the window.
