Barcelona spark fears Andres Iniesta could leave by posting exact same tweet as Neymar when confirming midfielder missed training
Nou Camp giants' official account revealed national icon was 'given permission by the manager' to miss today's session
BARCELONA fans fear they could lose another icon after club confirmed Andres Iniesta did not train by writing a word-for-word replica of a Neymar post before his departure.
The 33-year-old Spanish midfielder missed this morning’s session as the club prepare for the new season.
Barcelona’s official account revealed the news with a tweet in Spanish, which read: “Andres Iniesta did not train with the permission of the coach.”
And that was exactly the same as the post — with just the names changing — confirming Neymar had been allowed to skip training before eventually finalising a world-record £198million move to Paris Saint-Germain.
While it seems unlikely the Spain legend will leave the Nou Camp this season, his contract runs out in the summer of 2018.
And, speaking as recently as May, he revealed: “It’s possible that I won’t retire at Barcelona. I’m still thinking about whether I should renew my contract or not.”
Fans of the Catalan giants incredibly fear he could move to either Borussia Dortmund or Liverpool.
Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho are Barca’s top summer targets — but it looks like they will have to pay well over £100m for EACH of them.
