NEWCASTLE and West Ham are going head-to-head for Brentford star Jota.
reports the Spanish playmaker has another year left on his current deal at Griffin Park, and has attracted the attention of the two Premier League clubs.
Jota, 26, moved to West London from Celta Vigo and is yet to agree to extend his stay with the Championship club.
The Hammers and Newcastle are keen to land a quality ball player who has the ability to pick out a pass and unlock defences.
Slaven Bilic is lining up a move for Jota if they fail to keep Manuel Lanzini at the London stadium.
SunSport have revealed the Argentine star is close to signing a new Hammers deal to ward off any advances from Liverpool, who may target him if Philippe Coutinho gets his wish to join Barcelona.
But the Toon's need for Jota, who hit 12 league goals last season, looks more pressing than West Ham's, who could be lining him up as an insurance policy for Lanzini.

Rafa Benitez has been frustrated in his attempts to make the additions he wants this summer ahead of the opening game of the season at home to Spurs.
Bentiez will look to convince Jota he can become a superstar on Tyneside if he makes the move to the North East.
