Ousmane Dembele transfer battle hots up as Real Madrid join Barcelona in race for his signature

REAL MADRID have now joined the race against Barcelona for Ousmane Dembele, according to reports.

The interest circulating the French forward comes after his superb season with Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.

And now Spanish outlet say Real Madrid are keen on the Dortmund youngster to rival Barca's bid.

Barcelona were first to identify the French winger as a replacement for £200 million Neymar who has joined PSG.

Last week there was reports that Borussia Dortmund had rejected an initial bid from Barcelona yet on the same day Dembele hadn't shown up to training with the Bundesliga club.

However Barcelona are not prepared to stop there as they expected to return with a higher bid.

Real Madrid who are second to join Barcelona in the race are also very fond of the french international.

According to RAC1 journalist Gerard Romero, the forward would prefer a move to Barcelona yet Madrid are willing to throw in their players to Dortmund as part of the deal to bring Dembélé to the Bernabéu.

The Catalan radio station also revealed that the two club presidents; Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez and Dortmund, Rainhard Reuball have a firm relationship.

In which Perez has asked Reuball that before Dortmund sell Dembélé to let him know how much for.

Meanwhile Barcelona continue their saga with Liverpool over the pursuit of Philippe Coutinho as the Brazilian forward has handed in his transfer request.
