Manchester City offloading Eliaquim Mangala to Inter Milan on a season-long loan deal
Ace agrees terms with San Siro side as a replacement for Valencia-bound Jeison Murillo despite making City bench
MANCHESTER CITY are reportedly set to offload Eliaquim Mangala to Inter Milan.
The France international spent the last season on loan at Valencia and returned to the City bench for last weekend’s win over Brighton.
The Italians need a replacement for Jeison Murillo, who is ironically moving to Valencia as the Frenchman’s replacement.
And it’s said that Mangala has already agreed personal terms with Luciano Spalletti’s side ahead of a season-long switch to the San Siro.
Should the 26-year-old leave, it means Guardiola will no longer have cover for his centre-backs after starting the season with a three-man defence.
Vincent Kompany, John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi looked solid enough on opening day and Guardiola may have to dip into the transfer market once again if he wants to continue with the system.
Real Sociedad’s Inigo Martinez is of interest, as is Southampton’s wantaway star Virgil van Dijk.
Meanwhile, City are ready to make another attempt for Arsenal contract rebel Alexis Sanchez.
The Chilean’s deal expires at the end of the campaign and he is refusing to pen a new one.
City have already tried and failed with a move for Sanchez but are confident an offer worth £60millino will be enough to secure his signature.
