CRISTIANO RONALDO will serve a five-game suspension for his actions during Real Madrid's Super Cup win against Barcelona.
The yellow cards for excessive celebration and diving that sandwiched his goal contributed to the ban but the biggest hit came from his reaction to being sent off.
Ronaldo's ban mean he missed the second leg match up against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup and will miss the opening four La Liga matches.
Why is Cristiano Ronaldo suspended?
Ronaldo will serve a one-game ban for the second yellow card he was given for diving in the Super Cup game.
The additional four games he will miss are for are for shoving the referee, Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea, in reaction to the red card.
He was also slapped with a 3005 euro fine for physical confrontation with an official and will pay a further 1400 euro to Real Madrid.

Ronaldo will return on September 19 when Real Madrid face Real Betis at home.
