THIS summer has been a game-changer. Neymar moving to Paris Saint-Germain for £198million has changed the landscape of transfer fees and estimations have gone through the roof.

With that in mind, plus England’s young lions winning the FIFA Under-20 World Cup this summer, teams are also looking to the future.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has enjoyed a quick start to his season with Liverpool - the teenage right-back was superb in the UEFA Champions League play-off at Hoffenheim, even popping up on the scoresheet.

Trent Alexander-Arnold – Liverpool

The right-back opened up the season with an impressive performance against Watford, but the former Chelsea transfer target took that to another level against Hoffenheim.

A very mature performance away from home in the Champions League was capped off when he curled a free-kick into the bottom corner. It shows the confidence they have in the player that he was allowed to take the shot.

Nathaniel Clyne was first-choice last term, now, once back from injury, he will need to battle with the 18-year-old to win his place back.

Marcus Rashford – Man United

This is a big season for the 19-year-old striker. Time has passed after his amazing breakthrough, and without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, this is his chance to shine beside Romelu Lukaku at Manchester United.

For a teenager, scoring five times last season was a good return, but with that continued experience, there will be an expectation that he can build on that this year.

Tom Davies – Everton

Flowing blonde locks, a hard-working nature and skill on the ball, Tom Davies looks every part an exciting prospect for Everton.

Ronald Koeman will need to be careful not to stunt the growth of the midfielder with all his new signings. Yet, you get the feeling that the 19-year-old will take whatever chances he is given with both hands.

Davies started 18 league games last term, hopefully that won’t drop during this campaign.

Ademola Lookman – Everton

Signed from Charlton Athletic in January, Ademola Lookman has enjoyed a wonderful eight months.

The winger scored on his home league debut in Everton’s 4-0 win over Manchester City and then found the net three times for his country as the 19-year-old won the FIFA Under-20 World Cup this summer.

Reiss Nelson – Arsenal

Last season, the versatile midfielder was a crucial part of the Arsenal Under-23 side that play in the Premier League 2 - picking up six goals and six assists, but now Arsene Wenger has earmarked Reiss Nelson for a role in the senior side.

He impressed during pre-season and is able to play almost anywhere across the park. If Chelsea transfer target Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain moves on, Nelson will be pushed further up the pecking order at the wing-back position.

Dominic Solanke – Liverpool

Signed from Chelsea in the summer, the teenage striker impressed in South Korea as England won the Under-20 World Cup.

The 19-year-old scored four times during the tournament, but has yet to play a single minute in the Premier League.

Dominic Solanke did manage seven goals in the Eredivisie for Vitesse and looks ready for the step up at Liverpool.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah – Crystal Palace

Sent on loan to Crystal Palace from Manchester United, the 6 foot 2 centre-back has all the tools to become a star for club and country.

He will learn under Frank De Boer this season, adding to his 13 Premier League appearances, thrown into the deep-end by his countryman.

Good on the ball, strong and able to cover at full-back, Timothy Fosu-Mensah has all the tools needed.

Josh Tymon – Stoke City

Still only 18 years old, Josh Tymon could become one of the bargains of this summer as the left-back joined Stoke City on a free transfer from Hull City.

He loves getting forward but is regarded by some as a better defender than Liverpool signing Andrew Robertson. After failing to sign a pro contract with the Tigers, he was free to make the move to the Potters.

Tammy Abraham – Swansea

Highly-rated by everyone at Chelsea, after the striker scored 26 goals in 46 games for Bristol City in the Championship, it was time for Tammy Abraham to make the next step.

The teenager will be one of Paul Clement’s first options in attack at Swansea and he will pick up crucial experience, and give the Blues another chance to see just how good the English striker could be.

Jonathan Leko – West Brom

The 18-year-old burst on to the scene last season, making a handful of appearances for the Baggies.

Although Jonathan Leko has made nine appearances in the league, he has still to register a start.

Yet, that didn’t stop the quick and powerful winger picking up an assist against Stoke.

Lively and unpredictable, he could be a force for Tony Pulis this season.
