NEWCASTLE are weighing up a sensational move to bring Andy Carroll back to St James’ Park.
West Ham are desperate to get the injury-prone striker out.
Carroll, 28, cost them £15million in 2013 but has started just 52 league games. He has hit 23 Prem goals for the Hammers.
Toon boss Rafa Benitez is sizing up a deal to bring home the 6ft 4in hitman — who started his career at Newcastle before a disastrous move to Liverpool in 2011.
They offloaded him to West Ham and he has yet again struggled with injuries in east London.
The Hammers tried to flog him to the Chinese Super League in January but there were no takers.
Now co-owner chairman David Sullivan is hoping Toon take the bait and re-sign Carroll.
Benitez has also been offered Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere on loan but there are also question marks over the England star’s fitness.
