ANTHONY MARTIAL has seen Manchester United make a big change on the pitch - but he is still looking after the small change off it.

The £36million superstar was the odd van out - as he trundled in for training in a large Uber taxi while most of his team-mates stuck to their luxury cars.

Italy defender Matteo Darmian went upmarket from Martial by arriving in a regular taxi.

But, just as Martial and Darmian turned up looking like everymen, United's England duo Jesse Lingaard and Marcus Rashford rolled up in a Range Rover.

Meanwhile, Spaniards David de Gea and Juan Mata cruised in to the Carrington training ground at the wheel of their high-powered Mercdes'.

Martial has shown this season he can offer United something different, with his flair, mobility and pace.

And, while he might be their fastest player on the field, he showed he has no need to leave scorch marks with a flash sportscar away from the field, preferring a budget taxi.

The attacker has really knuckled down this season, netting late on in each of United's 4-0 wins, against West Ham and then Swansea.

That follows a fitful start to his Old Trafford career for the 21-year-old, who arrived from Monaco two years ago as the world's most expensive teenager.

His fee eclipsed the £27m record, also set by United, when they bought Southampton left-back Luke Shaw, then 18, in 2014.

Martial still faces a fight to displace any prong of United's well-balanced attacking trio, £75m Romelu Lukaku, Rashford and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

But his two scoring performances from the bench have proved to boss Jose Mourinho he can find the extra gear needed.

Even if he does not feel the need to show it in the Old Trafford car park.
