But a deal is still some way off with Aurier, 24, currently banned from entering the UK.

Aurier was given a two-year suspended sentence in France for elbowing a police officer in 2016.

It meant the former Lens and Toulouse man was refused entry to the country for PSG's Champions League game with Arsenal last November.

PSG were furious that British authorities revoked Aurier's visa, saying it showed a "flagrant lack of respect".

Aurier is now waiting to discover whether his appeal against the conviction is successful.

And Spurs are keeping tabs on the situation, as Pochettino seeks a replacement for Kyle Walker.

The England ace's £50million departure has left Kieran Tripper as Spurs' only senior right-back.

Eric Dier was expected to deputise when injury forced Trippier to miss Spurs opening-day win at Newcastle, .

But rookie Kyle Walker-Peters was instead drafted in for an impressive debut.

Spurs have agreed a club-record £35m deal to buy Colombian centre-back from Ajax, with a work permit expected to be granted in the coming days.

Marauding full-back Aurier is devastating when on song, but he has fallen down the pecking order after arrival of Dani Alves.

Aurier was left off PSG's pre-season tour to America and was not in their 18-man matchday squad for either of their three opening Ligue 1 matches this season.

The player landed himself in hot water in February of 2016 after describing ex-PSG boss Laurent Blanc as a 'une fiotte' - a term for a homosexual.

He also aimed jibes at several team-mates before later issuing a grovelling apology having been suspended by the club.

Having shelled out £198m for Neymar, PSG could now do with him off their books as they look to raise cash to avoid FFP sanctions.

Aurier made 21 league starts under Unai Emery last season as PSG finished second to Monaco.
