BARCELONA are set to sue Neymar for £7.8million for "breach of contract" following his £198m Paris Saint-Germain switch.

The amount relates to a loyalty bonus within the Brazilian star's contract after previously renewing his deal until 2021 -  to go with ten per cent interest.

Neymar signed his most recent deal with Barcelona back in October 2016, when he penned a five-year extension.

Within that deal, it would appear the Samba star was paid a loyalty bonus.

Having dumped the La Liga giants in favour of PSG, Barca are now claiming they are owed the money paid to Neymar after he was in breach of his contract.

The Brazil forward swapped Barcelona for Paris earlier this summer in a world-record shattering £198m deal - a full £109m more than the previous record.

That honour went to Paul Pogba for his £89m switch from Juventus to Manchester United 12 months ago.

On the pitch, Neymar has enjoyed a stunning start to life in Paris.

However, Neymar has clearly not forgotten his Barcelona roots.

The flying forward shed a tear ahead of PSG's game against Toulouse in memory of those affected by the horrific terror attack on the Spanish city last Thursday.
