The Premier League club's boss Tony Pulis has been keen to add some star talent to his squad this summer, being linked with a host of players.

But Burke is arguably the biggest after joining Jay Rodriguez, Gareth Barry and Ahmed Hegazi so far this summer.

On the move, Burke revealed he was thrilled to join the Midlands club, in order to play more first-team football.

The Scottish ace said: "I feel like it is a time for me to move on and play more games.

"I'm here, I want to impress and I want my name to be first on the team sheet."

Boss Pulis meanwhile described Burke as a "tremendous talent" with "fantastic raw ability".

Baggies chairman John Williams added: "We're delighted to see him at the Albion.

"He's clearly a talented young footballer and we believe this is the kind of signing that will excite our fans.

"We're all looking forward to seeing him in action."

Club officials will be hoping Burke can help improve on West Brom's already impressive start.

So far, the Baggies have won both of their matches - against Bournemouth and Burnley - 1-0 to sit third in the Premier League table.

Burke started his career at Nottingham Forest before moving to the German giants just last summer.

He made 26 appearances for the Bundesliga high-flyers, scoring once as the club finished second, only behind Bayern Munich in the league.
